Another Run At 1400
Good morning. We're set for a positive open following strength in overseas markets and optimism that lower commodity prices will continue the rotation we've seen. Earnings still remain front and center as companies like American Express (AXP), Amgen (AMGN), and Microsoft Corp (MSFT) report.
Premarket gainers: PGNX, ERIC, DECK, ARBA, MCRL, TRMB, DDUP, IBKR, SOHU, LSCC, BUCY, ABX, AFFX, JNPR, RYAAY, VISN, ACF, DV, ALU, PKI, SWN, TRN, AXP, BIDU, DDUP, STAR, SID, HANS, MELI, SWN, OTTR, HOLX, and KLAC.
Premarket losers: ISIS, NTGR, CHE, AVID, SIRF, BJRI, SYNA, UCBH, QUIK, MSFT, GGB, SHPGY, DWSN, AMX, WDC, FEED, NTY, CF, and PQ.
Overall the news flow is on the light side this morning as focus remains on earnings, commodities, and the dollar. At 10:AM we have a report on consumer sentiment but that is it and I doubt it will be a major catalyst. The focus of the day instead will be to close the week with solid gains as the end of the month approaches as well as next week's Fed meeting. Chances are very good they'll make at least another run at taking out 1400 in the S&P. Have a great Friday!
