Spooky Stocks (Update)

file veryscary.gif

Hard to believe, just three months ago today it was Halloween.

On that day, I provided two portfolios of spooky stocks - i.e. stocks likely to scare investors and blow away their returns between then and Halloween 2008.

One portfolio was created out of stocks submitted entirely by members. The other portfolio was created by me using stock screens that specifically seek to identify high-risk/shorting opportunities. Here is a three month performance update (click on the each screens below for detailed performance information):

Overall, not a bad start though frankly you'd think we'd be doing better especially in light of January's horrendous performance. So far the members’ spooky stocks are outperforming my portfolio in terms of overall decline, but the year is long. ;)
