A Quiet Morning
Good morning. It is a day so far without much to focus on. Overseas markets and commodities, including oil, are generally higher. Meanwhile, jobless claims fell to their lowest level since early January. Later today we have the Leading Indicators Report and the Philly Fed, neither of which are of great significance.
Premarket trading is also fairly low key. Notable gainers include ACXM, CTIC, TFSM, HNSN, GERN, ISIS, DUSA, HPQ, PRGX, SUNW, STEM, BEAS, and CTRP. Premarket losers are OPNT, MDTH, NCTY, and AAUK.
The last significant sentiment level to overcome that remains on everyone's attention are the closing (1527) and intraday highs (1553) of the S&P 500. With a tendency of May to close on a strong note along with holiday trading around Memorial day, we'll see if that pattern holds true. As for today, given premarket conditions and looming options expiration, I've already booked my 11AM tee time. Have a great day!
