From The Inbox
I recently received the following email and I thought you'd enjoy it as well.
"I was watching golf over the weekend. The announcers were chatting with Nicklaus about what makes Tiger so good. Jack said, "Because Tiger knows Tiger." At first, I found his reply kind of stupidly obvious. But he went on to explain that Tiger knows himself and his game so well - his strengths and weaknesses - that he has that extra bit of confidence needed to close strong in the final holes of a close match. His competitors, on the other hand, are busy thinking about Tiger and what he might do next, instead of focusing on their own game, like Tiger does. This made me think about trading. For the longest time (at least 10 years), I was always trying to trade like Marty Schwartz, or Linda Radscke, or Jesse Livermore, or whomever else's book or aticle I had just finished reading. Finally, somehow, I "found myself" as a trader, and that's when things turned around for me. In trading, as in golf, everyone needs to learn the basics, but then it's up to each of us to find his own way. It's a tough but rewarding journey." - Greg from Rockford, IL
I think these are very good words of advice.
