After The Buying Rush
Good morning. Investors are looking at a number of data points and don't appear highly motivated to make aggressive bets in response. September retail sales unexpectedly fell 0.4% (consensus 0.2%) while sales ex-autos, which were expected to be flat, fell 0.5%. Oil prices are up this morning and reports on consumer sentiment and inventories will also give investors more things to consider after the opening bell.
Notable gainers in premarket trading include EZPW, SONC, NOBL, PXSL, JBHT, TTWO, NVEC, CIEN, PAAS, THQI, GOLD, INFY, and PALM. Stocks moving lower are SFUN, MSCS, AVNC, SIGM, CAMP, TWMC, ACOR, ALTR, ERIC, DRYS, MOGN, BPOP, XXIA, and XLNX. I think even the bulls would like to see some consolidation and backfilling particularly after yesterday afternoon's buying rush. Happy Friday the 13th!
