Holding The Line At Nasdaq 2K
Good morning. We have a tentative start so far this morning even though Texas Instruments (TXN) is helping stabilize the Nazzdogs above the critical 2K level. The bulls appear to be trying to hold the line, but without any major buying catalysts on the horizon it will be difficult.
The economic front remains light today but a few conferences and meetings are scheduled and will provide market-moving news. For example, Intel (INTC) will be hosting a INTC Solutions Summit in Las Vegas. Bear Stearns hosts its 17th Annual Media, Entertainment & Information Conference and Deutsche Bank Securities has its Information Technology Hardware Conference. Watch for the newswires for headlines that may provide intra-day setups.
Like previous days, there are also many pockets of strength but you'll have to look closely to find them. So far this morning buyers are moving into stocks like Digital Lightwave (DIGL), ISTA Pharmaceuticals (ISTA), Pharmanetics (PHAR), and TRM Copy Centers (TRMM).
